End of Spring Term Update
Maple tree class have been so excited about our new school and class. We created beautiful, detailed drawings of our new view out of the windows in our classroom. They look fantastic and have made our new classroom bright and colourful.
This term we decided that as we are in a new school, we should choose new class monitor’s to look after our wonderful classroom. We also had a democratic vote to decide who our school council reps are going to be!
Our topic this term was called ‘Staying alive!’ We have learnt all about animals basic needs for survival and we have explored different habitats. We have been looking after our new class pets; Rocky and Tom and thinking about what they need to survive. We have also discovered why animals have different patterns and how camouflage helps to protect different species.
We love our new book corner! We spend lots of time in the book corner. All the new books, bean bags, chairs, plants and a wonderful bright window it’s hard to resist!
Maple tree class have been developing our thinking skills. We have been working together as a community in P4C (philosophy for children). We have been exploring different concepts and ideas, sharing our opinions and building on each other’s ideas whilst engaging in interesting philosophical discussions.
