In PE this half term, we have been doing gymnastics. We have focussed on the core gymnastic skills of rolling, balancing and jumping. After practising the skills, we worked in pairs to create sequences. At first, we just used mats, but we later moved on to incorporate other elements of apparatus.

We have been learning about our local area and on Tuesday we visited The Museum of London Docklands. We got the DLR to Canary Wharf and enjoyed exploring the area. At the museum we had a great time in the Mudlarks gallery and looked at lots of interesting artefacts.

We have been busy in Reception J learning about Mount Kilimanjaro. We found Tanzania in the atlas and looked at photos of Mount Kilimanjaro. We were then inspired to construct our own version of the mountain complete with African animals, labels and of course Tara at the top covered in snowflakes, ‘feeling happy.’

In Reception J we had a post office this half term! How exciting!! We have all been very busy writing letters, addressing envelopes, posting parcels and working at the post office.

In Reception this week we celebrated Eid al-Adha. We cooked chicken curry, tarka daal and pilau rice. Then we had a party where we sang, danced and ate lots of delicious food. Our parents came along to join the celebration too. Eid Mubarak Everyone!
