Breakfast Club at Woolmore

We are extremely proud of our Breakfast Club at Woolmore. We believe that no child should every be too hungry to learn and we are proud to offer this club to all children, entirely free.

Our Breakfast Club started in 1998. Yes, it’s true! We applied for a grant from Kellogg’s, we were successful, Woolmore Breakfast Club was born, and the rest is history.

We are so proud to work in partnership with the national children’s charity, Magic Breakfast, who provide a fantastic offer for our children including food, toys and games. In 2021, our Breakfast Club was awarded ‘Best Breakfast Club in London’ in 2021 by the Kellogg’s Breakfast Club awards.

Breakfast club provides an opportunity for children to come together before the school day starts, to fill their tummies and enjoy activities that support their mental and physical wellbeing.

Debbie and her team offer a wide range of breakfast foods including cereal, toast, seasonal fruits and hot food on rotation - including boiled eggs, baked beans and sausages.

Children can enjoy colouring, reading, board games, singing, dancing, yoga and creative activities linked to special events…all before the day begins! We are very lucky to have our Not Just Sport PE coaches leading sports sessions daily for Year 3 – Year 6 outside, too. On Mondays and Fridays, Year 2 are also invited to join in.

As part of our Breakfast Club offer, we foster children’s love of books and support our children with one-to-one reading. Children are encouraged to read for 10 minutes every morning. This equates to nearly an hour of extra reading for children who attend daily. As we always say, read every day, it’s the Woolmore way!
